The vast majority of the funds we raise are used locally but we also support international projects such as the Lions fight to save sight..
The Lions Sight First programme has:
- Saved or restored the sight of 24 million people world wide.
- Provided 70 million treatments for river blindness.
- Carried out 7 million cataract operations.
- Built or expanded 207 eye hospitals and clinics
- Upgraded 314 eye centres.
- Trained 300,000 opthalmologists, nurses and other eye care workers.
- Launched the world's first ever initiative to combat childhood blindness with thirty pediatric eye -care centres currently being established.
